Gum Disease Treatment
Periodontal Disease is a form of gum disease that, if left untreated, causes the loosening and eventual loss of teeth. Periodontal Disease is the result of a gum infection in which bacteria become trapped underneath your gums. These bacteria damage and destroy the bone which holds in your teeth.
Gum disease treatment in the form of a “deep cleaning" is the first-line of defense to treat Periodontal Disease. With the adjunct of anesthetic gel, this is a painless procedure in which the hygienist will remove the calcified bacteria deposits which are growing beneath your gums. Once these calcified deposits are removed, your gums can begin to heal.
